Peau d’âne is a musical film based on the fairy tale of the same name by Charles Perrault. The king has promised his deceased lover that he will only marry again to a woman as beautiful as himself. However, he cannot find another girl, only his own daughter, the princess. She flees in a donkey skin and after a long journey falls in love with a prince in a land very far away.
