After her mother’s death, Jenny is withdrawn and combative. Her American stepfather sends her to live with her grandmother in Thailand. There she meets Boonrod, a deaf-mute boy whose only friend is his water buffalo Samlee. Jenny wants to defend Boonrod from his bullies. To do so, she will have to earn the respect of the town by winning the deadly annual buffalo race. This is the first Thai film in Filemon’s 10-year history!
