While playing, one day the Congolese boy Ziki discovers a mysterious tunnel winding under the kitchen floor. He sets out to explore, but stumbles, and slides down to the bottom of the tunnel. On his strange journey, he discovers a world full of exploitation and war.
People under Water
Sisters Melek and Lila get stuck on a swimming platform with their confident classmate Pia. There, they come to the confronting realisation of how much they have grown apart.
Kismet
11-year-old Roma girl Milena has to cope with wedding cakes and bloodstained sheets. She juggles her school aspirations with the chaos of her sister Bogdana's (16) wedding preparations. Bogdana dreams of marriage as a ticket to freedom. Milena tries to prove to her that destiny – kismet – is a myth.
The mud under my window
One of Emma's mothers is too busy, the other is too far away. Emma deals with both in very different ways. Silently, their relationship grows more tense, and the tone becomes grim. What are parents supposed to do with such an angry daughter? A confrontation is inevitable.
