Winter. It’s cold, but there are some flies. How strange. Strange too is Mara’s story to the police. The 14 year old and his friend Hedus are caught driving a car, without a license and far away from where they live. Mara tries to explain how they got there. The police doesn’t believe him… In this funny road movie, director Olmo Omerzu creates a complex and playful story. Many times, he takes the viewer on an absurd detour, leading nowhere. Like the flies in winter, Mara and Hedus are just tiny, unexpected dots in the end. The roles are interpreted by non professional actors, and their spontaneous performances capture the spirit of boyish adventure, the thrill of the unknown and above all, friendship. The movie was selected at Karlovy Vary Filmfestival.
