Filem’On Awards "Bella Brussella's" 2015

Competition Kids

Feature
Special mention : Dhanak - Nagesh Kukunoor

The special mention of the feature films goes to a very touching film. The actors were really good and we could empathize very well with the emotions of the characters. The landscapes and the colours were beautiful, just like the deeper thought: the love between a brother and his sister.

Price : The Shamer's Daughter - Kenneth Kainz

The award for best feature film goes to an exciting film with a beautiful message, namely the fact that everybody is unique en that you always have a choice to be good and that the good always wins from the bad. We also found the actors really good, we could empathize with them very well. The effects were really good and the land they created felt realistic. The camera was adapted to the situations and the lightning was very good. The sound edit was rich with beautiful music and eye for detail. The film surprised as at all moments. We lost ourselves in the film so we even forgot that we were in the cinema.

Shorfilm
Special mention : Frenemy - Vera Lalyko,

The special mention for the short films goes to a film that is nice for a young and an old audience. The drawings of the film were beautiful, so as the colours. But the most important aspect of the film was its message: it shows us how we should associate with others and that we should accepts everyone the way he is.

Price : The Present - Fabio Coala

The award for best short film goes to a film that wasn’t just very touching, but had a surprising end where the whole story came together. The film was beautifully animated and the sound was good. We couldn’t believe that such a short film could contain such a nice and beautiful story.

Best of TV
Price : Kalle Kran - Johan Hagelbäck

The award for best tv-series goes to a funny program with a fine message. There were beautiful sounds and the collage of real and animated images was very nice. The children were really enthusiastic about this series.

Competition Teens

Feature
Special mention: Snow Pirates - Faruk Hacihafizoglu

We appreciated this film because of its images and content; it informed us about a subject yet unknown to us through good acting and precisely chosen images.
We were impressed by the cinematography, the images had strong compositions and we learned from the director that special filters were used in front of the lenses. As filming in the snow and dark is difficult. The actors had no previous experience, they were actual people from the location of the film and we believed they played very realistically.

Price: Spartacus & Cassandra - Ioanis Nuguet

We collectively felt moved by this film. In anticipation of the film we wondered how a documentary would interest us. But the story of the two Roma children impressed us in a way more intense than a fiction film might have evoked. We think it is very well done by the filmmaker how he could create such an emotional story with suspense. The choices in filming and editing are clearly made with great care.

Shortfilm
Special mention: Hadiatt Abi (The Gift of my father) - Salam Salman

We believe this is a very strong film because it shows a complex situation in a ‘simple’ way. The film teaches us about a unique place to commemorate people, and it makes us aware of the violence in war without showing it literary. The film takes place in one small confined place, a car. The editing and different camera angles reveil gradually the story and the sounds connects us to the thoughts of the boy who is in the car. After a few minutes the situation unfolds itself and that comes as a shock to the viewer.

Price: Le sens du toucher - Jean-Charles Mbotti Malolo

This animation film pleasantly surprised us with its subject and way of storytelling. It was unique to see deaf people in an animation film, and the film has both beautiful and funny moments.
There were images only possible in animation, like a visible made tremble of a touch and the feelings for one another. Touch and dance replace words and everything that happens, even the subtle things, become of importance. The images are with vibrant colors, contrasts and fantasy; things change in proportion when the emoties change. This all makes this film very special.
