When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit

Caroline Link

1933. The nine-year-old Anna is not sure who Hitler is, but her father has openly criticised him and is now in danger. She and her Jewish family have to flee the Nazis, leaving her favorite pink rabbit cuddly toy behind. From then on, the toy dominates Anna’s thoughts, as her family moves to Zurich and Paris, to finally land in London. She encounters life in exile, not speaking the language, not knowing the local customs and manners, and missing her friends and loved ones. Yet Anna grows up, finds new friends, learns to take responsibility and is confident she can do anything. Based on the well-known and semi-autobiographical novel for children written by Judith Kerr and translated into more than 20 languages.
