A butcher’s heart

Marijn Frank

Wessel is a Dutch boy of 13, who’s learning the craft of being a butcher from his grandfather. But Wessel has doubts about his vocation… He’d rather be working with real, alive animals. At school, the other kids tease Wessel sometimes, because of what his family does for a living. But Wessel is smart enough to see through their hypocrisy: they eat meat, and it does not grow on trees. This documentary screened at the IDFA.
