Everything starts in Sicily, the day when Tonio, the son of Léonce, King of the Bears, is kidnapped by hunters… Pushed by harsh winter conditions, and his starving people, Léonce decides to go look for his son in the Plain of the Humans. The movie is based on the children’s book The Bears’ Famous Invasion of Sicily by Dino Buzzati. It was selected to be screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
