In the world of bears, befriending a mouse is frowned upon. And yet the ponderous and marginal bear, clown and musician Ernest takes in the little orphan mouse Celestine, who had to flee from the underground world of rodents. The two loners find support and solace in each other and thus disrupt the established order.
