Paris, World War II. Two Jewish children, Maurice (15) and Joseph (10) are forced to wear the yellow star during the German occupation. They are teased at school for it, a lot. One day, they escape to the South of France, in search of their brothers. They learn to hide their faith, while staying true to their roots. Their playfulness will save them from many tragic situations.
In this intimate movie, based on the best-selling memoires of Joseph Joffo, the director chose to work with non-professional actors. The movie has been remade in 2017, by Christian Duguay, but Filem’On sticks with the original version from 1975, written by Jacques Doillion.
