Maki, a little boy has an unusual friend: zarafa, a young giraffe. Hassan, Prince of the Desert, wants to take zarafa to the King of France, but Maki is determined to bring his friend back to his native Egypt. On an epic journey across Alexandria, Marseilles and the snowy Alps, they have many adventures with the aviator Malaterre, mad cows and a pirate queen.
